Job Introduction

BATCH & FURNACE MANAGER| PERMANENT | DERRYLIN| £53,000-£67,000

As BATCH & FURNACE MANAGER you will lead the Batch & Furnace Department working closely with Vidrala HQ ensuring furnace integrity. Deliver the highest productivity in terms of quality and quantity whilst safeguarding and promoting compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

The Key Requirements

  • Technical education is essential 
  • Engineering qualification or degree is desirable but not essential
  • Glass technology knowledge 
  • Energetic analysis & terminology 
  • Knowledge of furnace control
  • Knowledge of batch & furnace installations
  • Knowledge of forehearths control
  • Knowledge of chemical process of glass production
  • Knowledge of refractory
  • Knowledge of raw materials properties
  • HSE & Quality management systems understanding
  • Ability to analyse data, root causes & implement decisions
  • Ability to work as part of a team cooperation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to plan and organise short and mid-term activities
  • Ability to develop & maintain good working relationship with colleagues at all levels
  • Good level of communication skills across different levels within the organisation
  • Competent computer skills – SAP, BW and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
