Job Introduction

On behalf of ENCIRC, Adecco are recruiting for a Cold End Engineer​ on a Fixed Term Contract until 31/12/2023. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global business and supportive team!

Role Responsibility

The role reports into the Cold End Engineering and Job Change Manager within the Cold End team. You will be responsible for Cold End Engineering performance and for delivering the performance targets in line with overall group guidelines and ensuring compliance with H&S and GMP (BRC) guidelines and standards.

Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the cold end production and rework equipment, to ensure all maintenance and repair work is carried out in a timely and competent manner and to ensure all projects are undertaken and completed in a professional manner.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Overhaul and repair equipment and assemblies as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the plant and ensure the availability of spare parts. This includes testing the machines or assemblies before putting them back in operation.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance using our preventative maintenance system (PEMAC), visual checks and routine inspections.
  • Fault finding on machinery and reducing the risk of future breakdowns.
  • To improve the efficiency of the production lines through continuously investigations into new technology and techniques.
  • To respond to and assist in mechanical breakdowns. In the event of breakdowns that directly affect production to ensure the repair is carried out quickly and efficiently and to the highest standard to ensure no reoccurrences.
  • To deal with component suppliers to ensure our requirement are fully understood and we obtain the most cost-effective solutions for problems.
  • To manage the stores spends for the department to ensure all parts are accounted for and the overall spend is kept to a minimum.
  • Working from manufacturers drawings for part identification, tolerance settings and measurement verifications.
  • To inform shift personnel of any changes or problems that may arise as a result of work carried out during normal working days that could impact them while working on nights or at the weekends

The Ideal Candidate

  • Candidates must have an electrical background and a HNC qualification minimum
  • They should also have a good working knowledge and understanding of the following: Pneumatics & Hydraulic Systems, Electrical Systems, PLC'S, HMI's
  • Experience working with medium/large automated manufacturing, inspection & packaging equipment would be advantageous.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Excellent fault-finding skills.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement techniques.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Package Description

Salary: £44000 - £48000

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00, Friday 08:00 - 15:15
