Cold End Maintenance Fitter - Internal Candidates Only | Elton | Permanent | £45,000 - £48,500

As Cold End Maintenance Fitter, you’ll bring strong mechanical skills, a proactive mindset and a commitment to keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently. You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across engineering and production. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, you’ll take pride in maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety.

As Cold End Maintenance Fitter, you’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the plant by carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a range of production machinery. This includes responding quickly to breakdowns, maintaining equipment to ensure optimum performance and working from manufacturer drawings where required. You’ll ensure all work is completed in line with Food Safety, Health & Safety and operational procedures, while also identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes and reduce future downtime.

You’ll work closely with a team of fitters, electricians and equipment specialists to ensure the plant continues to operate efficiently and production quality remains at the highest standard.

Key Requirements

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent (City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or HND) in a relevant discipline
 • Proven practical engineering fitting experience with a strong track record in maintenance (5+ years preferred)
 • Experience working within an industrial or manufacturing environment
 • Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance experience on production equipment
 • Competent in fabrication and welding (ARC and MIG)
 • Working knowledge of pneumatics
 • Ability to read and work from technical or manufacturer drawings
 • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
 • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
 • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and support continuous improvement
