Customs & Excise Business Analyst - Systems, Quality & Compliance (Internal Candidates Only) | Permanent | £40,000-45,000 | Can be based at either Elton or Bristol

The Business Analyst - Customs and Excise Systems & Data supports the Customs & Excise Manager by improving the quality, consistency and control of customs, excise and duty data across the Beverages division

The role builds on existing duty compliance data quality activity and expands it into business analysis, process mapping, systems reconciliation, due diligence data management, NCR reporting, governance reporting and SAP readiness

The postholder will work across Elton and Bristol with cross-site engagement where required, focusing on data and process flows between AS400, Autostore, DutyMaster, JDE, BlueYonder, Descartes and future SAP. The role will help ensure that C&E data is accurate, traceable, reconciled and capable of supporting operational decisions, statutory compliance, audit evidence and management reporting.


The Key Requirements 


  • Experience in business analysis, data analysis, duty compliance, customs/excise, finance, logistics, inventory control or operational reporting
  • Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliations, process mapping, root cause analysis and action tracking
  • Ability to document processes, identify control gaps and translate findings into practical improvement actions
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately across multiple systems and data sources
  • Clear communicator, able to explain data issues, process risks and improvement actions to operational management stakeholders
  • Able to work independently, manage time-critical tasks and prioritise competing demands
  • Experience working with ERP, WMS or duty management systems, knowledge of AS400, Autostore, JDE, BlueYonder, DutyMaster, Descartes or SAP is desirable
  • Good understanding of customs, excise, bonded warehouse or duty reporting processes or willingness to undertake relevant training.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-2.30pm
