Despatch Operator

Main Responsibility

• Maintain health and safety in the workplace and ensure work is kept in accordance with housekeeping standards 

• Efficient loading/offloading of customer loads / transfers. 

• Ensure accurate scanning of required pallet moves. 

• Loading and securing of pallets, as per instructions. 

• Safely Securing loads on trailers  

• Opening and closing of trailer curtains 

• Labelling of 3rd party inbound ware 

• Pre check from loading sheet on all outbound loads 

• Completing glass pallet pack checks before despatching of goods. 

• Unloading all Lorries delivering glass pallets/empty pallets. 

• Returning non-conforming pallets upstairs. 

• Bringing scrap pallets to designated areas. 

• Accurate labelling of 3rd party inbound ware. 

• Loading of containers using a mobile ramp. 

• Cleaning of despatch area / warehouse conveyors. 

• Provide excellent communication to the relevant parties to minimise disruption to the operation 

• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus. 

• Ensure the workplace is kept clean at all times. 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills

• FLT Certificate is essential 

• Able to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources 

• Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail 

• Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative 

• Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns 

• Should have good oral and written communication skills 

• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems. 

Desirable Skills 

• Experience with Double Handling Attachment 

• Experience moving Glass and Liquids 

Package Description

Salary: £35,000 -  £37,000
