Head of Logistics, Ireland | Derrylin, Co Fermanagh | £68,500-75,500 + 20% Bonus
This is a key leadership role within the Logistics Senior Leadership Team with the opportunity to shape a sustainable and continuous improvement driven culture
As Head of Logistics you will lead the Derrylin Site's transport and despatch operations, encompassing the coordinated management of inbound materials and outbound finished goods driving operational excellence through performance monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and strong leadership. Responsible for overseeing warehouse operations at Derrylin and Ballyconnell ensuring optimal stock levels, efficient storage practices, and the effective movement of inventory between both locations. Support inventory planning activities, ensuring stock is positioned effectively across the network to maximise service levels and aligned with customer demand. Oversee the planning and execution of transport activities, to maximise service performance while controlling costs. Ensure the scheduling and collection of raw materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing production alongside the safe, accurate, and efficient despatch of finished goods to meet customer demand and on-time, in-full (OTIF) targets. Manage the Encirc-owned fleet, ensuring full compliance with O Licence and regulatory requirements and adherence to the highest safety and operational standards.
The Key Requirements
- Degree/Masters level, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, operations or business administration
- Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competency) Mandatory
- NEBOSH or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrable experience leading fleet operations, including driver management, transport planning and scheduling
- In-dept understanding of the factors involved in operating an efficient Warehouse to support manufacturing operations and a varied customer base
- Proven ability to develop, manage and motivate high performing teams in a matrix management environment
- Proven ability to manager complex projects, successfully resolve high complex issues and utilise internal network and relationships to reach solutions
- Flexibility and ability to adapt and lead change and make operational and commercial decisions based on those changes
- Excellent level of communication skills across different levels within the organisation
- Experience leading multi-functional teams in a 24/7 operation to deliver the business KPIs and plans
- Experience of establishing and fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous professional development, inclusion and high performance to enable team members to meet their potential and perform at their best
- Ability to establish robust talent and succession plans to ensure the ongoing health of the logistics function
