On behalf of ENCIRC, Adecco are recruiting for a Interim AW Engineering Manager - Fixed term contract until Feb 2023 working Monday to Friday (INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY)
Role Responsibility
- Ensure full compliance of all Health, Safety and Environment policies and adherence to corporate and legal responsibilities
- To carry out (lead or manage) Incident Investigations
- Audit work areas addressing unsafe conditions / unsafe acts
- Manage follow up on the statutory inspection of lifting equipment, Electrical safety and ensure corrective actions are complied with
- To maintain and test the Warehouse Fire fighting & Deluge equipment
- Provide technical leadership to the warehouse maintenance team to improve the working practices, skills, and processes
- Ensure that direct reports adherence to all policies, processes, and procedures within Engineering team. Take full responsibility for ensuring the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors, and visitors. Ensure company contractor policy is always followed (RAMS, PTW, inductions, lock out tag out, working at height etc.)
- Maintain and develop safe systems of work particularly around equipment defects, hazards, and inspections
- Ensure that the team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective way
- Lead daily and weekly maintenance planning, reporting and performance improvement including KPIs, PM completion, breakdown root causing and issue resolution
- Actively lead the department in VOS initiatives and participate across the Warehouse Operations Team in wider VOS initiatives
- Lead the Daily Engineering Review to agree and prioritise daily engineering actions
- Determine the maintenance strategies by equipment type including periodic, corrective, and predictive approaches through PEMACs, Operator TPMs, and condition monitoring
- Maintain, validate, and ensure stock holding for existing equipment spares across departments of responsibility to agreed levels
- Requisition non-stock items and contractor support across departments of responsibility as required and within budget constraints
- Develop and maintain support contracts for key equipment and services
- Monitor the Engineering capex and repairs and maintenance (R&M) spend within Warehouse to ensure weekly, monthly, and yearly spend is on track and within budget. Annually update 5-year capex plan for Warehouse including but not limited to sustainability and special projects
- Manage and support the activities/duties of the Warehouse Engineering team, providing leadership for all direct reports over 24hrs about key actions and priorities
- Provide training and development opportunities for the teams, specifically coaching, to enable them to maximise their performance and be empowered to take ownership for decision making
- Ensure effective channels of communications are always carried out, particularly in relation to shift handovers, site activities and weekly meetings
- Coordinate/assist in out of hours support as required
- Liaise with Project Engineering on new equipment commissioning and approving required spares, training, and maintenance tasks
The Ideal Candidate
- Professional qualification ideally in Engineering
- Experienced in automation & warehouse operations
- Supplier & Engineering maintenance
- Proven ability to co-ordinate across teams
- Specific maintenance requirements of automated warehouse systems
- Proven negotiation skills & assertiveness to secure contracts that deliver value & agree contractual and service commitments are achieved
- Proven ability to manage engineering team successfully resolving issues & utilising internal network and relationships to reach solutions
- Strong communication skills both oral & written across different levels within the organisation
- Resourceful with ability to work to deadlines & priorities
- Team player
Package Description
Salary: £47,000 - £49,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Work Pattern: Monday -Thursday 8am - 5pm Friday 8am - 2.30pm - 38.75 hours
