On behalf of ENCIRC, Adecco are recruiting for a permanent Purchasing Officer working Monday to Friday

Role Responsibility

To purchase goods, materials and services required to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply. The Purchasing Officer will play a vital role in ensuring that the most cost-effective and appropriate materials are purchased according to established policy and procedure to improve site performance.

Encirc operates across multiple sites including Elton, England and Derrylin, Northern Ireland.  Some travel between the two sites may be required.

  • As part of a busy Purchasing Team, you will be tasked primarily with ordering and planning the timely supply of various components and materials
  • Purchase and expedite delivery of goods and services to maintain continuous and efficient plant operations
  • Primarily responsible for purchasing of packaging materials, along with other goods to the wider business, namely Encirc Beverages
  • You will be working day to day with our existing supply base and finding and onboarding new suppliers as required. Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with the supply base to ensure that information flow is good and required standards are maintained is key part of the role
  • Where relevant, ensure all Customs Clearance for importation of goods are completed in a timely manner and all paperwork in relation to Customs Clearance is available/traceable for auditable purposes
  • Deal with day-to-day internal and external purchasing queries quickly and efficiently
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and ensure the optimum balance is achieved on price, quality and delivery times
  • Process invoice queries
  • Assist in special projects and other duties, as assigned
  • Provide cover for (and be covered by) other Purchasing Officers, as assigned
  • Compile, store and retrieve purchasing records on SAP system
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills:

  • Commercial acumen
  • Negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Self-starter and the ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong computer skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desirable:

  • Either working towards or willing to work towards CIPS qualifications
  • SAP experience

Package Description

  • Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 + Discretionary Bonus

  • Work Pattern:  Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm and Fri 8am-2.30pm - 38.75 hours per week
