Salary - Year 1 £10.00 per hour, from year 2 dependent on age £10.00 per hour (18-20 years old) £12.21 per hour (21 and over)
About the role:
As Tankhouse Operator Apprentice you will provide support and assistance to the team responsible for bulk products, process plants, and related systems. The role involves developing an understanding of how process operations meet company objectives for safety, product quality, cost efficiency, and customer service, and providing support to ensure these requirements are consistently achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Champion Food Safety and Quality - follow all Hygiene, Quality, and Safety standards with pride.
- Focus on safety procedures and regulations, keeping yourself and your team protected at all times.
- Work smart by following Safe Systems of Work, including SOPs, OPLs, and Risk Assessments.
- Know your process areas - and deliver every task to the highest standards.
- Own your paperwork: complete and support all process documentation and records accurately and on time.
- Keep the Process Yard safe and secure - control vehicle movements and ensure all documentation is signed off correctly.
- Collaborate and communicate to keep product supply flowing - on time, in spec, and ready for the filling lines.
- Support QA sampling and product release with precision and attention to detail.
- Support shift handovers - clear communication keeps production seamless.
- Live and breathe Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in everything you do.
- Follow all HMRC compliance procedures to the letter.
- Drive continuous improvement - spot opportunities, share ideas, and make things better every day.
- Be proactive in your training and development - keep learning and growing.
- Take pride in a clean, safe, and well-organised work area - no hazards and no clutter.
Safety & Workplace Responsibilities:
- Use equipment safely and smartly - operate all machinery, tools, vehicles, and safety devices exactly as trained, following every Safe Operating Procedure.
- Wear it right - use all required PPE correctly, follow company guidance and the relevant risk assessments.
- Be part of the improvement - actively support workplace inspections and risk assessments and share your ideas to make our environment safer and more efficient.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 5 GCSE’s at grade A*-C / 9-4 including math’s & English
