Job Introduction

DESPATCH CONTROLLER  | PERMANENT | £34,000 - £36,000.

As the Despatch Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely despatch of customer orders, including handling bonded stock paperwork, coordinating inbound deliveries, and overseeing warehouse resources. In this key role, you will manage a team of Warehouse Coordinators, consult with multiple departments to ensure smooth workflow, and maintain compliance with all relevant standards. Your focus will be on maintaining optimal stock availability, minimizing customer disruptions, and enhancing overall service quality and performance.

The Key Requirements 

  • Fully understand the philosophy of all control systems within manufacturing and  retain and use this knowledge and skill.
  • Be knowledgeable about HMRC and SOX compliance, with an understanding of warehouse and transport operations, and the ability to enhance those processes.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with relevant IT systems.
  • Capable of gathering information and identifying key areas needed to address strategic challenges.
  • Ideally educated to GCSE or equivalent with continued Professional Development (CPD) (e.g. ILM3) 
  • Experience of similar role 
  • Managing operational change
